day 2

Owen is doing great! We have been learning a lot about each other the last day and a half. He is such a sweet baby and just loves being held. Feeding has finally picked up and seems to be going well. We have learned that he LOVES back rubs (who doesn't). Bob and I are doing great too and have just loved getting to know our son. You might notice some red on the skin area around his eyes - that is just a reaction to the medicine they put on their eyes after they are born. His eyes look great and the red skin should start to get better in a week or so. Thanks for checking on us!

First Day

Owen is doing great! We have been learning lots about our new little guy from all the doctors and nurses today! Feeding is getting off to a slow start but that is normal. Otherwise, he seems to be a very happy baby and just loves to be held!

Robert Owen Horner

Robert Owen Horner (Owen) was born at 12:21pm on Tuesday, May 11th. 9lbs 14oz and 20.5" long. Linz and Owen did great! He's a cute little kid and we're looking forward to introducing him to everyone!

Making Progress

The nurse just came in and we've gone from a 6 to an 8.5 really quickly! Linz is doing well (this is bobby) and looking forward to meeting the little one. We'll keep you posted!

Baby Day

My water broke this morning at 3am!! we came up to the hospital shortly after and i am now dialted to 6! the doctor thinks the baby will be here around noon!! i was able to get the epidural so now it is just a waiting game until our baby arrives!!

No baby news today. Feeling ok and taking it easy, but that's it.

Had lots of contractions last night but they went away. Hope something happens soon!

More progress!

We just came from our weekly appointment and found out that I have made little more progress. I am not 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced! She said my body is ready so now we are just waiting for contractions to start or water to break. Keep your fingers crossed!

False Alarm

We had a false alarm today. I was at work and started having contractions that were 2 minutes apart. Of course we got to the hospital and they started going away. I am still 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. They did say that the baby has moved even further down. He is now at -1 station. It is just a waiting game at this point but I am hoping he makes his grand debut soon!

Weekly Update

We had our weekly check up yesterday and learned that we made a little progress over the past week. I am now 80% effaced and 2 cm dilated. Again she commented on how low his head was, so we are hoping that means a quick labor and delivery. You have to have hope, right!?!?!?!?

37 Week Update

We had our first weekly appt last week and we were very happy to hear that I have started making progress. She said the baby’s head was ‘so’ low which is great news. She also said that I am 70% effaced and 1 cm dilated. I really hope we have made more progress this week and we will find out at our next appointment tomorrow! Cross your fingers for us!!
